John R. Nofsinger assumed the position of interim dean with the University of Alaska, Anchorage, College of Business and Public Policy in 2020. In addition to his responsibilities in this role, he has served the university as the William H. Seward Endowed Chair in Finance, as well as a professor of finance, since 2014. His activities in this position range from leading both graduate and undergraduate financial courses to performing various financial research. Throughout his career in finance, John R Nofsinger has been quoted by a number of financial and business articles.

Prior to his work at the University of Alaska, Mr. Nofsinger gained experience as an engineer with the United States Air Force in El Segundo, California. Over the course of three years with the Air Force, he contributed to the construction of numerous satellite tracking stations around the world.

John R Nofsinger studied finance at Washington State University in Pullman, graduating with his doctor of philosophy in 1996. He has established himself as a member of professional organizations such as the Financial Management Association International.
